The Pyalong community has launched a campaign to save Pyalong Primary School's relocatable classroom.
The school community is pleading with the Andrews Labor Government to reverse its decision to remove the building which is used for art, music, sports, playgroup and before and after school care.
Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Steph Ryan is urging residents to get behind the campaign by signing a petition she has circulated.
Ms Ryan said the building was utilised for a wide range of activities by the school and the wider community.
"Early childhood learning is critically important. Removing this classroom when it is being used by the Pyalong playgroup defies logic."
Ms Ryan said anyone wanting to sign the petition could do so at the school.
“Copies of the petition are available at the school and I encourage everyone to circulate it among their neighbours and workplaces,” Ms Ryan said.
“Losing this building would be a real blow to the community and the more voices we can add in support of retaining the building the better.
“We must show the government that this asset is important to the community."
