Country football and netball grants program open
28 March 2019
Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Steph Ryan is encouraging grassroots football and netball clubs and umpiring associations to apply for grants of up to $100,000 to improve their facilities.
Applications for the current round of The Country Football and Netball Program are now open and close on 3 June 2019.
Ms Ryan said funding assistance was available for facility improvements like ground resurfacing, installation of lighting, building modern and safer netball courts and new pavilions with accessible and female-friendly change rooms.
“The Country Football and Netball Program enables our local football and netball clubs to make the improvements needed so we can continue to enjoy playing the sports we love,” Ms Ryan said.
“Our local club are so often the heart of our communities. It’s where people come together and socialise.
“Having high quality sporting facilities is also important if we want to encourage more people to live an active lifestyle.
“As well as encouraging participation in football and netball, the initiative helps to stimulate local economics by creating jobs during construction.”
Clubs must register their interest in applying for funding by submitting an Expression of Interest to their local council.
“I strongly encourage clubs to contact their local council about timelines for Expressions of Interest,” Ms Ryan said.
