Labor recognise the legacy of Patch and Ted

27 July 2018

Daniel Andrews plans to formally recognise his rorting former Labor Minister Steve Herbert, naming a building at a TAFE campus after him.

Melbourne Polytechnic will hold a formal naming ceremony at the Greensborough campus later this week.

Steve Herbert will only ever be remembered as the MP who rorted taxpayers to use his chauffeur-driven car to ferry his dogs around.

Steve Herbert’s legacy on training is woeful. On his watch, student enrolments in training have plummeted and TAFEs continue to turn massive deficits.

Shadow Minister for Skills, Training and Apprenticeships, Steph Ryan:

“Steve Herbert is just another Labor rorter. It’s reprehensible that Daniel Andrews thinks it ok to honour this kind of behaviour.

“Steve Herbert cheated and ripped off taxpayers. He should be remembered as someone who brazenly flouted the rules and resigned in disgrace.

“Not even a taxi rank is worthy of Steve Herbert’s name.”
