Labor spending country money on city streets

Last week it was revealed that 10 out of 48 bridges to be upgraded through the Andrews Labor Government's ‘Stronger Country Bridges Program’ are in metropolitan Melbourne.
In addition to axing the $160 million Country Roads and Bridges program and cutting the roads budget by 10 per cent, Labor is siphoning funds that were supposed to be for the country into the city.
All 10 of the Melbourne bridges set for work are within 4km of Premier Daniel Andrews’ own electorate of Mulgrave.
The Premier has used this money to improve bridges around his Melbourne electorate, while disregarding the needs of country motorists.
When Daniel Andrews announced the fund, he said the money would be fast tracked to strengthen bridges in regional Victoria.
This has been a hoax.
A leaked Cabinet submission has also revealed that Roads Minister Luke Donnellan is preparing to repackage an existing $900 million fund and relaunch it as new money.
Labor's promise in opposition to create hundreds of millions of dollars of new road maintenance funding is a furphy.
It is deeply disappointing that Daniel Andrews is taking country Victorians for granted.
