Nominate a local sporting hero

02 September 2015

Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Steph Ryan has encouraged Euroa electorate residents to nominate someone they know for the 2015 Community Sport and Recreation Awards.

Ms Ryan said people could nominate local sporting volunteers, coaches, officials and clubs for the awards.

“The awards have a long-standing reputation for celebrating the achievements of our grassroots sporting and recreation community,” Ms Ryan said.

“There are many people in our region who make a real difference to the community and who embody the true spirit of sport and active recreation.

“I encourage as many people as possible to get their nominations in and support their local clubs and individuals,” Ms Ryan said.

The categories include:

  • Community Sporting Club of the Year
  • Outdoor Active Recreation Initiative
  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Service to Sport and Active Recreation Award
  • Community Coach of the Year
  • Community Umpire or Referee/Official of the Year
  • Community Sport and Recreation Facility Award
  • Community Sporting Event of the Year
