Statement from Steph Ryan following the Victorian Electoral Commission's declaration of the Euroa poll
09 December 2014
"I am honoured and incredibly humbled to be elected as the first member for the new Euroa electorate.
“I will work hard to substantiate the trust voters have placed in me and to represent the interests of the people of Euroa.
“I am grateful to the hundreds of people who assisted me throughout the campaign – in ways both big and small.
“My particular thanks goes to my campaign committee and our wonderful team of volunteers who worked tirelessly over a period of more than 10 months.
“We worked hard to run a strong, grassroots campaign focussed on a positive plan for the community.

“With the poll now finally declared, I look forward to establishing my electorate office and getting down to work.
"In coming days I will be asking Labor to clarify its plan for key projects in the Euroa electorate to provide certainty for our communities.
“Throughout the campaign the Victorian Nationals, in partnership with the Liberals, committed more than $50 million for schools, hospitals and vital infrastructure across the Euroa electorate, should we be re-elected to government.
“In stark contrast, the new Andrews Labor Government has committed just $650,000 to two projects.
"Labor also plans to abolish The Nationals $1 billion Regional Growth Fund which provided significant funding to our communities.
“I will continue to lobby Labor to commit to these projects which are vital to the future of our communities.”
