Steph is out to hear your ideas

11 July 2014

The Nationals candidate for Euroa Steph Ryan will kick off her Putting Locals First Tour across the new Euroa electorate tomorrow.

Ms Ryan will hold a series of listening posts to give residents an opportunity to share their local priorities and ideas.

“Understanding the priorities of communities across our region is of great importance to me,” Ms Ryan said.

“Over the past six months I have been meeting with community groups, businesses and residents around the electorate.

“These listening posts are a great opportunity for me to better understand what is important to each community so that I can take those priorities to government.”

Ms Ryan said she understood the opportunities and challenges that small communities faced, having grown up in Murchison, Girgarre and Wyuna.

“Across the electorate there are common themes: residents want to see better roads, education and healthcare and they want a fair share of funding. Each community, however, has different needs and priorities,” Ms Ryan said.

“I am committed to putting locals first and working with communities to deliver on their local priorities,” Ms Ryan said.

Ms Ryan said she would be collating her findings following the tour and releasing them on her website.
