The Euroa electorate ripped off by Daniel Andrews

The Andrews Labor Government is refusing to commit much needed funding in the Euroa electorate but is happy to waste $800 million not to build the East West Link in Melbourne, Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals, Steph Ryan said today.
Ms Ryan said last week in Parliament, Daniel Andrews had confirmed the Labor Government would pay $420 million to cancel the contract for the East West Link.
This is in addition to approximately $400-500 million in sunk costs already incurred by the State Government including land acquisitions, project development and bid costs.
“Daniel Andrews is squandering millions of dollars to build nothing in Melbourne, yet he cannot find the money to commit to vital health, education and roads funding for regional Victoria,” Ms Ryan said.
“This money could fund the upgrades of both Benalla P-12 and Seymour Colleges as well as completing the co-location of the Waranga Hospital, providing an ambulance service for Nagambie and publically funded hospital beds for Strathbogie Shire.
“It could continue the Coalition’s Country Roads and Bridges program, ensuring the shires of Benalla, Campaspe, Mitchell and Strathbogie receive the money needed to keep our roads maintained and safe.
“Instead, Daniel Andrews has chosen to tear up contracts and pay million in compensation at no benefit to Victorians.
“Daniel Andrews has continually made excuses to delay or abandon projects in regional Victoria, yet can justify spending up to $800 million on nothing in Melbourne,” Ms Ryan said.
